SYNERJOY Choir won silver at the World Peace Choral Festival

26 July 2026

Friends, we have incredible news! This summer, the SYNERJOY Choir, led by our choirmaster and conductor Victoria Kotovich, represented Cyprus at the 15th World Peace Choral Festival in Vienna—and we returned home with a Silver Award.

From rehearsals in Limassol to the Golden Hall of the Musikverein

Our schedule in the Austrian capital was truly eventful: we performed at the Vienna International Centre (the UN headquarters in Vienna), met and sang alongside choirs from all over the world, and capped off the trip on a stage every musician dreams of—the festival's final ceremony took place in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein, one of the most famous concert halls in the world.

Right there, among the flags of dozens of participating countries, we were presented with the Silver Award of the 15th World Peace Choral Festival. For us, this award is recognition of the hard work, rehearsals, and love for music that go into every performance we give.

We are not professionals. And that is the whole point

The most important thing we want to say is that most of us are not professional musicians. We have jobs, families, and regular daily lives. But we allowed ourselves to pursue what we love—and routine evening rehearsals brought us to an international stage.

Sometimes everything starts with a simple thought: "Why not give it a try?" We firmly believe that age and profession do not determine whether you have the right to take the stage. And creativity has the power to open doors you never even dreamed of.

About the festival

The World Peace Choral Festival has been held in Vienna since 2010 with the support of the Austrian government, the city authorities of Vienna, and the UN headquarters. In 2026, the festival celebrated its 15th anniversary: every year it brings together more than 1,700 participants—around 40 choirs from over 20 countries worldwide—and its program features dozens of concerts, competitive auditions, and master classes. The festival's motto is "Coming together to sing, singing for a better future".

We are proud to have represented Cyprus on this stage and to have proven that music unites people regardless of their profession, age, or experience. Thank you to everyone who was with us on this journey—many new rehearsals and, of course, new stages lie ahead!
